Brow lamination vs microblading — a shaped, laminated brow at DEEPINLASH, Gravesend Brooklyn 11223

Brow lamination or microblading?

One is a perm that lasts six to eight weeks. The other is pigment in your skin that lasts years. They are not two versions of the same service, and the wrong one is expensive to undo.

Lamination $75 · Microblading not offered here

The short answer

The difference, in one paragraph.

Brow lamination is a chemical perm for the brow hairs you already have: it redirects them, holds the new shape for six to eight weeks, and then grows out with nothing left behind. Microblading is a cosmetic tattoo — fine strokes of pigment deposited into the skin, lasting one to three years before a touch-up, and semi-permanent by definition. Lamination rearranges hair. Microblading draws hair that is not there. If your brows are full but unruly, lamination is the answer. If there is genuinely no hair left in a section, lamination will not fill it and microblading might.

Before anything else

We laminate. We do not microblade.

Stated up front rather than at the bottom. DEEPINLASH offers brow lamination at $75, or $100 with shaping and tint, alongside lash extensions. Microblading is not something we do — it is a tattoo procedure, it is regulated differently, and it belongs with a specialist who does it all day.

So this page is not here to talk you into lamination. It is here because the decision is genuinely consequential in one direction: lamination grows out in six to eight weeks if you hate it, and microblading does not. Knowing which problem you actually have is worth ten minutes of reading.

Here · $75 Brow lamination Lifted, smoothed and set for six to eight weeks. $100 with shaping and tint. Shaping is done after lamination, once the true shape is visible. Full details, or по-русски.
Not here Microblading and permanent makeup If that is what you need, find a specialist and check their licensing and portfolio properly. We will say so at the chair rather than sell you lamination for a problem it cannot solve.

Side by side

What actually differs.

The lamination column is our price list. The microblading column is deliberately left without a price — we do not offer it, so any figure would be guesswork.

One rule that applies whichever you pick: they do not mix on the same timeline. Lamination is not done over recently microbladed skin — the area needs to have healed, and solutions on fresh pigment are a bad idea. It is one of our listed contraindications.

How to decide

Find the sentence that sounds like you.

"My brows are full but go in four directions" Lamination — $75 The textbook case. Coarse, curly or unruly hair that brow gel stops holding by noon. Lamination redirects every hair and keeps it there for six to eight weeks with no daily effort.
"They look sparse, but there is hair there" Lamination, probably Hairs lying flat and overlapping cover less surface than the same hairs lifted and spread. That redistribution is why sparse-looking brows often read noticeably denser after lamination — without adding a single hair.
"A section has no hair at all" Not lamination Over-plucked to the point of no regrowth, alopecia, a scar. Lamination will improve everything around the gap and leave the gap. A tint sometimes softens the contrast; microblading is the service that fills it.
"I want to stop drawing them on every morning" Depends why you draw them If you are taming direction, lamination ends that. If you are drawing in shape and colour where there is no hair, lamination will not — and you will still reach for the pencil at week two.
"I've never done anything to my brows" Start with lamination Cheapest way to find out how you feel about a shaped, lifted brow, and it is gone in six to eight weeks if the answer is no. Making your first brow decision a permanent one is how people end up on removal forums.
"My brow hair is fair or grey at the edges" Lamination with tint — $100 On fine or fair hair, lamination alone can be close to invisible. The tint is what makes it show. We will tell you which you need at the chair rather than add it by default.

What we will not do

Sell you lamination for a problem it cannot solve.

This is the part of the comparison that matters commercially, so here it is plainly. If you come in with a genuinely bare section and ask for lamination, the honest answer costs us $75.

  • Lamination cannot grow hair. No service that takes 45 minutes can.
  • It cannot fill a patch with no follicles left. It will make the hair around that patch look better, which sometimes makes the patch more obvious, not less.
  • It should not be repeated more often than every six weeks. Over-processing is real and it leaves the hair dry and brittle.
  • It is not suitable over active eczema or psoriasis, on broken skin, after a recent chemical peel in the area, or over recent brow tattooing or microblading.

Send a daylight photo of your brows with no makeup and we will tell you which of these you are, before you book anything.

Questions

Lamination and microblading.

What is the difference between brow lamination and microblading?

Lamination is a chemical perm for the brow hairs you already have — it redirects them, holds the shape for six to eight weeks, then grows out leaving nothing behind. Microblading is a cosmetic tattoo: fine strokes of pigment deposited into the skin, lasting one to three years. Lamination rearranges hair; microblading draws hair that is not there.

Does DEEPINLASH do microblading?

No. DEEPINLASH does brow lamination at $75, or $100 with shaping and tint, plus lash extensions. Microblading is a tattoo procedure, regulated differently, and belongs with a specialist who does it full time. There is no microblading price in the table above for the same reason — we would be inventing a number.

Should I get lamination or microblading for sparse brows?

It depends whether there is hair there. If the hairs exist but lie flat and overlap, lamination lifts and spreads them so they cover more surface, and sparse-looking brows often read noticeably denser. If a section has no follicles left — over-plucked beyond regrowth, alopecia, scarring — lamination cannot fill it and will make the surrounding hair look better around the gap. Send a daylight photo and we will tell you which you are.

Can brow lamination be done over microbladed brows?

Not over recent work. Recent brow tattooing or microblading is one of our contraindications — the area needs to have fully healed, and perm solutions on fresh pigment are a bad idea. If your microblading is well healed, mention it when you book and we will look at it first.

Which is safer, brow lamination or microblading?

They carry different risks. Lamination's main risk is over-processing, which leaves the hair dry and brittle — avoided by not repeating it more often than every six weeks. Microblading breaks the skin, so it carries the risks any tattoo does, and the result is semi-permanent whether or not you like it. The practical difference: a bad lamination grows out in six to eight weeks.

How much does brow lamination cost in Brooklyn?

At DEEPINLASH it is $75, or $100 with shaping and tint, and the appointment takes 45 to 60 minutes. First visit to the studio is $20 off, so $55 and $80 respectively. Shaping is done after lamination, once the true shape is visible.

If I am unsure, should I try lamination or microblading first?

Lamination, almost always. It is the cheaper decision and the reversible one — six to eight weeks and it is gone. Starting with a semi-permanent procedure on a shape you have never worn is how people end up researching pigment removal.
