What to know before your first lash appointment.
For a first set, book classic 1D — $120, or $100 with the first-visit discount — at DEEPINLASH, 1019 Avenue P, Suite 703 in Brooklyn 11223. Allow 90 minutes, arrive with clean lashes and no eye makeup, take contact lenses out beforehand, and expect to lie down with your eyes closed for most of it. Free lash mapping comes first, so you see and approve the shape before a single extension is applied. If you change your mind about density at that point, you are only charged for the set you leave with.
Before you come
Five minutes of preparation.
Caffeine. If you have had three coffees, your eyelids flutter, and fluttering lids make isolation harder and the appointment longer. Not a rule, just something worth knowing.
The only real decision
Which set to book first.
The number in the name — 1D, 2D–3D, 4D–5D, 6D+ — is how many extensions are fanned onto each natural lash. It is a density choice, not a quality ladder, and classic is not the budget version of volume.
| Set | First visit | Book it if |
|---|---|---|
| Classic 1D | $100 | You have never had extensions and want to find out how you feel about them. Lightest, most natural, easiest to live with. This is the default answer. |
| Mix 2D–3D | $130 | Your lash line has sparse patches or is uneven, or the look you saved has visible texture to it. Our most-booked set overall. |
| Volume 4D–5D | $150 | You already know you want a full, dark line, or your natural lashes are very fine — fans spread weight better than one thick lash does. |
| Mega volume 6D+ | $160 | Rarely a good first set. It is the least forgiving tier to live with. Start lower and move up at your second visit. |
If you genuinely cannot decide, book classic. We re-map you in the chair, you can move up before we start, and you are only charged for the set you leave with. The full comparison is here if you would rather decide in advance.
The appointment
Ninety minutes, and most people fall asleep.
It does not hurt. Nothing touches your eye. You lie on your back with your eyes closed and your lower lashes taped down, and you stay that way until it is finished.
- Consultation and mapping, about 10 minutes. Eye shape, lid position, where your lashes are dense and where they are not. We draw the length zones on the under-eye patch so you can see the shape.
- Cleanse. The lash line is cleaned of oil and residue, because adhesive does not bond to sebum.
- Patches on, lower lashes isolated. This is what stops anything being bonded to a second lash.
- Application, about 70 minutes. One lash at a time, both eyes. This is the part you sleep through.
- Cure. Nano mister, or the LED lamp if you added it.
- Mirror. Brushed out, and we talk through aftercare. You leave with lash shampoo and a brush.
If anything is uncomfortable at any point — a patch, a taped lid, a draught — say so. It is fixable in ten seconds and we would rather you said it than lay there for an hour.

Afterwards
What the first week is like.
Two things surprise almost every first-time client, and neither is a problem.
The three rules, in full: clean them daily with lash shampoo, keep oil-based products away from the lash line, and stop sleeping face-down. With standard adhesive, also keep them dry for 24 hours — the LED-cured bond removes that for $20. The full routine is here.

Questions
First-timers ask these.
Which lash extensions should I get for the first time?
Classic 1D, unless your lash line is patchy or you already know you want a full, dark line. Classic is the lightest set, the easiest to live with, and the cheapest way to find out whether extensions suit you — $120, or $100 on a first visit. You can move up at your second appointment once you know how you feel about them.
Does getting lash extensions hurt?
No. Nothing touches your eye. You lie on your back with your eyes closed, your lower lashes taped down, and most clients fall asleep. If a patch or a taped lid feels uncomfortable, say so and it is adjusted in seconds.
How long does a first lash appointment take?
About 90 minutes: ten minutes of consultation and mapping, a cleanse, then roughly seventy minutes of application, the cure, and a few minutes on aftercare. Allow a little extra for the first visit, since the consultation is longer when we have not seen your lashes before.
What should I do before my first lash appointment?
Arrive with clean lashes — no mascara, eyeliner, eye cream or SPF on the lid. Take contact lenses out and bring a case. Bring a reference photo if you have one. Book it two to three days before any event rather than the morning of, so there is time to adjust anything you are not happy with.
Can I wear makeup after getting lash extensions?
Yes, with two permanent exceptions: no waterproof mascara, and nothing oil-based within an inch of the lash line. With standard adhesive, no eye makeup at all for the first 24 hours; with the LED-cured bond that wait does not apply.
How much do lash extensions cost for a first-time client in Brooklyn?
At DEEPINLASH, $100 for classic, $130 for the mix, $150 for volume and $160 for mega volume on a first visit — $20 off the standard $120, $150, $170 and $180. The discount comes off at checkout and there is no code. Lash mapping is free, and you go home with lash shampoo and a brush.
What if I don't like my lash extensions?
Tell us at the mapping stage and nothing has happened yet — changing the plan costs nothing. Tell us within a couple of days of the appointment and we adjust length, curl or density. If you want them off entirely, removal is $25 and takes twenty minutes; never pull them off yourself, because that is what actually damages natural lashes.
