4D – 5D

What a volume set costs, and how long it takes.

Volume lash extensions are $170 for a full set at DEEPINLASH, 1019 Avenue P, Suite 703 in Brooklyn 11223. The appointment runs about 90 minutes, the refill is $140 every two to three weeks, and free lash mapping is included every visit. What it is

Five fine lashes weigh less than one thick one.

That sentence is the entire technique. A classic extension at 0.15mm sits on one natural lash. A volume fan replaces it with four or five extensions at 0.05mm or 0.07mm, fanned open and set on the same lash. More surface, more darkness at the lash line — and less total weight than the single thick lash it replaced.

The fans are made by hand, one at a time, during your appointment. Nothing is pre-made and nothing is glued lash-to-lash. If a set is applied so that two natural lashes end up stuck together, that is a stickie, and it is the thing that damages lashes. Isolation is most of what the ninety minutes buys.

How it reads Full in person, soft on camera A volume set is dark along the lash line and gradual toward the tips. It photographs without the solid black band you get from a set that is too heavy for the lashes underneath.
Best for You want it noticed, not asked about If you have tried classic and wanted more, this is the next step. It is also the right set if your natural lashes are fine — fans distribute weight where a thicker classic lash concentrates it.
The weight maths Diameter decides, not count 4D at 0.07mm and 5D at 0.05mm land at a similar total weight. We pick the diameter from the lash we are working on, which is why the number in the name is a density choice and not a quality ladder.
When we say no If the lash can't carry it Fine, sparse or recovering lashes get a 2D–3D mix instead, and we will say so at the chair before we start. A heavier set on a stressed lash line does not look fuller — it looks stressed.

Before anything goes on

Mapping decides the next four weeks.

Volume is a density. The shape is a separate decision, and it is the one people regret when it is skipped. Mapping takes about ten minutes and it is free with every set, every visit.

  1. We look at where your natural lashes are dense and where they are not.
  2. Eye shape and lid position set the curl — a hooded eye and a round eye take different ones.
  3. We draw the length zones on the patch so you can see the shape before we commit to it.
  4. You approve it. Changing your mind at this point costs nothing.

Cat eye, doll eye, kitten, wispy — all of them are available at 4D–5D. The style is the map, not the tier.

Four tiers, one question: how much density can your lashes carry? Volume is the middle-upper answer and the one most clients land on after a first set.

SetFull setRefillWho it suits
Classic 1D$120$100Decent natural density, wants length and lift rather than fullness. The safest first set.
Mix 2D–3D$150$130Sparse patches and uneven lash lines. Our most-booked set.
Volume 4D–5D$170$140A full, dark lash line that still photographs soft. Works on fine lashes.
Mega volume 6D+$180$150Events and camera. Needs a healthy natural lash underneath.

Retention

Whether your set still looks like this in week three.

A volume set sheds on the same cycle as your natural lashes — every lash you lose takes its fan with it. That is normal and it is why refills exist. What you do at home decides how even the loss looks.

  • Clean them. Lash shampoo, every day, with the brush we send you home with.
  • No oil-based cleanser or makeup remover anywhere near the lash line.
  • Don't sleep face-down on them — a silk pillowcase does more than it sounds like it should.
  • No mechanical curlers, no waterproof mascara on extensions.

Keeping them

Refill at two to three weeks.

At two to three weeks you have lost enough fans that the line reads uneven. A 60-minute refill removes grown-out fans and replaces them. Past three weeks there is not enough left to build on, so the appointment is booked and priced as a new full set — not an upsell, just where the maths lands.

Questions

What people ask about volume.

How much are volume lash extensions in Brooklyn?

A volume 4D–5D full set is $170 at DEEPINLASH, and the refill is $140. First-time clients get $20 off, so a first volume set is $150. The LED-cured bond is an optional $20 on top, and safe removal is $25 or free when you book a new set the same visit.

Will volume lash extensions damage my natural lashes?

Damage comes from weight and from pulling, not from the number of lashes in a fan. Five extensions at 0.05mm weigh less than one at 0.15mm, which is why volume is often the safer choice on fine lashes. What does damage them is a fan heavier than the lash can carry, two natural lashes glued together, or extensions pulled off instead of dissolved. We map the weight first and removal is a service here, never something you do at home.

How long does a volume lash set take?

About 90 minutes for a full set, 60 minutes for a refill. The fans are made by hand during the appointment, and most of the time goes on isolating each natural lash so that nothing ends up stuck to anything else.

What is the difference between volume and mega volume lashes?

Volume is four to five extensions per fan; mega volume is six or more at the finest diameters we stock. Mega volume reads darker at the lash line and costs $180 against $170. It needs a healthy natural lash underneath — if yours is not there yet, we will tell you and build volume instead.

How often do volume lashes need a refill?

Every two to three weeks, at $140. Past three weeks there is not enough of the original set left to build on, so the appointment is booked and priced as a new full set at $170.

Can I get volume lashes if my natural lashes are short or fine?

Usually yes, and often it suits fine lashes better than classic does, because the weight is spread across several ultra-fine extensions instead of concentrated in one thick one. If the lash line is actively recovering or very sparse, we will recommend 2D–3D mix first and move you up at a later visit.

Can I shower the same day as a volume lash appointment?

With the LED-cured bond, yes — it sets in seconds under the lamp, so the cure is finished before you leave. With standard adhesive, keep them dry for 24 hours. The LED option is $20 on any tier and it is not hypoallergenic; no lash adhesive is.

How many lash extensions go on each eye?

It depends on how many natural lashes you have, because every extension needs one to sit on. Most people carry somewhere around a hundred or so usable lashes on the upper lid at any one time — the rest are too new or too close to shedding to work with. A classic set places one extension on each of those. A volume 4D–5D set places a fan of four to five on each, so the fibre count multiplies even though the total weight does not. That is also why nobody can quote you a lash count in advance: we work with what is on your lid that day.
